A sad remark on a common misconception, only lack of ability. On your way down, picture all the grief that’s feeding into this. On your way down, put together all past failings in your head. You’re late to believe you had a chance at this. Hard to believe you never once considered making connections, stepping out of line, chasing down burning desires. Middle class feelings never felt so good, living with the lights out. Beat yourself black and blue. But it is your obligation to express gratitude.
